Side Effects and Complications

- Hyaluronic acid injection:

- Local redness, swelling, and pain: May occur shortly after injection and typically resolves on its own within a few days.

- Infection: If sterile procedures are not strictly followed during injection, it may lead to ear infection, manifesting as redness, swelling, fever, and intensified pain.

- Vascular embolism: A serious complication that occurs if hyaluronic acid accidentally enters a blood vessel, potentially causing local skin necrosis, blindness, and other severe consequences. However, the incidence rate is low.

- Shape distortion and displacement: Improper injection technique by the physician may result in unnatural ear shape, deformation, or displacement.
