Treatment Results
The results of nasal bone correction vary depending on the correction method and individual differences.
Non-surgical methods:
Manual reduction: For mild nasal bone fractures or dislocations, timely and accurate reduction can restore the nasal bone to its normal position, improving visible issues such as nasal deviation and collapse. Certain improvements are typically observable shortly after reduction, though subsequent stabilization and care may be required to maintain the results.
Medication: Primarily serves to alleviate pain, reduce swelling, and promote healing, assisting nasal bone recovery. However, it cannot directly alter the shape of the nasal bone. Typically used in conjunction with other correction methods, it indirectly demonstrates improvements in nasal appearance and function as swelling subsides and fractures heal.
Surgical methods:
Traditional open surgery: Involves subperiosteal dissection and nasal bone correction to thoroughly address nasal deformities. This method provides significant improvement in nasal shape with relatively lasting results. However, it entails greater surgical trauma and a longer recovery period. Swelling generally subsides over several weeks post-surgery, with stability typically achieved within 3 to 6 months.
Intranasal septoplasty via the transnasal approach: Utilizes endoscopic technology for precise nasal bone correction and delicate adjustments to the internal nasal structure. This approach yields noticeable improvements in appearance with no visible facial scarring since incisions are made inside the nostrils. Recovery time is relatively shorter than open surgery, with results gradually stabilizing within approximately 2 to 3 months.
Minimally invasive nasal bone correction: Characterized by minimal trauma and rapid recovery, this method results in milder postoperative swelling and pain. Swelling typically subsides within 1 to 2 weeks, and more ideal outcomes can be observed within 1 to 3 months, effectively addressing issues such as nasal deviation and collapse.
